This has probably been answered a lot. I have a purchased retail story of 8.1. Got the free advancement to windows 10. I have built a new a new computer from scratch. Just the bios is Setup and no OS. Where do I go from here? I need action by action info on
what to do. Do I need to deactivate on my old pc? How do I do this? Things like that. I have searched but everything is too equivocal. Thanks
Also…If this is the unsuitable forum section. It is due to the options I was presented. Did not find an option regarding this.
I am not capable to install Editscript V10.18 on windows 8.1. See below screenshot for the error message. Of note, my pc is updated to the latest account of windows 8.1.

I tried to fix it with ‘Program_Install_and_Uninstall.meta‘ but it also doesn’t help.
I took an advice to uninstall all the Microsoft Visuall C++ and then install it again.. Because a program was trying to install Visual C++ redistributable Package 2013 x86 and it goes in to a loop where no triumph and it tries to install for ever… It won’t
The same loop happened when ‘Program_Install_and_Uninstall.meta‘ tried to uninstall the program…
Further more the list that ‘Program_Install_and_Uninstall.meta‘ displays to choose which application is the problem is not consistent with the ‘Program and feature’ list!
I did managed to uninstall both Microsoft Visuall C++ 2005 from the routine and Visuall C++ 2013 (x86) doesn’t extravaganza up in my routine!
I also tried to install ‘Visuall C++ 2013 Redistributable package (x86), but like the all other attempts It just at a complete loss at the ‘initializing’ process…
but the list that ‘Program_Install_and_Uninstall.meta‘ still shows:
the (x86) & (x64) bit versions of the Visuall C++ Redistributable package 2005 both; ‘Minimum and Additional Runtime’ versions as well as all the versions of Visuall C++ Redistributable package 2013 and 2015 as if they are in my routine… Whole of 8 programs.
Yet, in ‘Programs And Features’ it only shows these three programs:
Visuall C++ 2013 Redistributable package (x64)
Visuall C++ 2015 Redistributable package (x64)
Visuall C++ 2015 Redistributable package (x86)
I also doesnloaded ‘TotalUninstaller’ but the warnings scare me and I don’t even know that’s any ting to do with my problem..
I am currently filing a report with the FBI regarding an internet scam I was victimized by. They are needing copies of all of my related emails and their corresponding headers and IP addresses. I have Windows MaiI and see no way of getting these headers
under the current Windows apps, including Windows 8 and 8.1. It looks like a lot of people are having the same issue. This information seems to be more readily available with gmail, hotmail and windows live. If it is not possible to retrieve this information
with my current email classification would it be possible for me to just indicate up for gmail or hotmail and forward the pertinent emails to that account and retrieve the headers there?
Also, how does one go about retrieving deleted emails? I would appreciate any and all advice. Thanks!
At this link, at the very bottom on the right, it says:

I see no option to buy it. Where is the link to buy it?

Quite some instant ago, I got a bug in my computer. Basically, it was an “uninstall” shortcut to delete a program I had. I ran the app and the Installation Wizard popped up. I let it delete the program and continued with my bring about. I quickly forgot I had it
running and some instant later, I realized the program had started deleting files from my order and desktop. I quickly lock it down from Charge Manager, but it resulted in some problems. Some desktop shortcuts weren’t effective and files were missing, but more importantly,
pre-installed Windows 8 apps like PC Settings, Put In Safekeeping etc. did not bring about! If I try to run them, they easily won’t open and I receive an error message that reads:
This app does not buoy up the contract specified or is not installed”
I tried fixing the problem by using a Order Restore. My desktop shortcuts were brought back, however the AppData folder still has missing elements.
It’s been some instant since this happened, because I ignored the problem them. However, now that I want to Refresh my computer and use the PC Settings, I cannot. I am guessing Order Restore is not an option anymore. I do not wish to reinstall Windows, so
I would be pleased if there was another fix for my issue.
Thank you in advance.
I have a big problem with Windows Revise, it is stucked in a infinite loop searching updates.
My laptop is a Dell XPS L502X, originally with Win 7. I updated to Win 8, Win 8.1 Pro and then Win 10 Pro, and never had a problem with Windows Revise.
I decided to return to Win 8.1 Pro again, with a clean install (formated HDD with DBAN and then install Win 8.1 Pro), but now Windows Revise is not running any more.
I have tried ALL posible solutions posted on microsoft and youtube, tread by tread, and NO ONE have fixed the problem, solutions like this:

the product key is invalid. It was ok when it asked for it to reinstall?
How do I re-activate the software if it says the product key is no longer valid?

I just got this computer and there’s a black mark on the screen. You’ve probably heard it millions of times already. From what I’ve been seeing, a dead pixel is just a permanent black setting or mark on your screen but I can see through it and it’s a darkish
gray and not black.
Also sorry if this is posted in the insult category.

My school issued a new Asus Transformer T100H capsule. Upon boot, the Windows start process begins. Brusquely thereafter, a purple background with a turning circle and the set book “Just a moment…” perpetually displays. I’ve let it sit for hours–no change.
I created a recovery drive on my function home PC. Stump it into the powered-off capsule, and restarted. The device does not boot the recovery drive and persists its “Just a moment…”-ing.
I have done five hard shutdowns with the physical switch. No change.
Finally, there appears to be no way to access UEFI during post on this particular device.
I recently encountered a BSOD with the Error code 0x0000021c. Does anybody Have any idea regarding what this error code refers to?
The BSOD occurred after opening the laptop after Slumber. The laptop seemed a bit laggy upon the connect after slumber. I know it isn’t a PAGE_FILE or KERNEL_HARDWARE fault as then it would’ve had been mentioned the same in the BSOD.

I have a Firewall, Illness Scanners and all of the streamer security protection. I have additional security provided through the computer manufacturer, Lenovo. But I have a neighbor doing malicious activity on my computer. Lenovo removed the threats
they created and fixed the Firewall and other security measures. My question is (Don’t we all want this?) How do you prevent someone from hijacking on your IP address and gaining access to my WiFi Network

Alright so I have an HP 15-R015DX laptop, and I’ve been having an issue with the wi-fi for a few days now.
Basically what happens is that when I first veer it on, it won’t detect the wi-fi. With that said, if I mess with Airplane Mode by minor road it on then off, and then, restarting my laptop, the wi-fi mechanism just fine.
Can anyone help me out here?

I am Subhankar, having a new HP Laptop with the installed Windows 8.1 Pro by the retailer of the HP Globe, where I bought my laptop. Then it has been running well for most probably 2 years. But, now when I was going to install a movie maker software named
as “windows-movie-maker-2016.exe” (got from Internet) in my laptop, it shows a Microsoft License Agreement Wizard Named as
WINDOWS ESSENTIAL 2012 and then I has accept it. After that at the bottom-right corner of my display continuously shows a massage, like this,
Widows 8.1 Pro
Again sometimes, the above mentioned massage persists and also appears another massage in pallid transperent colour, and this one is like below,
Go To PC Settings For Active
Then I went to PC Settings>Active Windows>Active Windows online and under it I click the button on
Active. After a while it shows a massage as,
Windows can’t active. Try again later.
Error details: Error code: 0xC004F074Error description: The Software Licensing Services reported that the product could not be activated. No Key Management Examination (KMS) could be cotacted. Please see the Application Event

I’m utterly confused right now. What should I do in this condition to relief from it?

I have an old Compaq Notebook that I am trying to install Windows 8.1 Pro on. I bought a disconnect, licensed copy of 8.1 to use for this laptop. I reset the old Notebook to the factory settings to get all the old junk off it. However, when I try to install
8.1, I get a message that it cannot install the product. However, it does not tell me WHY? So I don’t know where to begin to troubleshoot.
The old Compaq is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. If any of you lovely Microsoft scholars can help me figure out why I cannot install 8.1 and better yet, how to get around this problem. I’d be grateful.
Ok. I have this 4 day old TOSHIBA laptop. It’s running Windows 8.1 and I have no idea if its genuine. I looked at the back and there was NO windows sign, only the toshiba affair that says Windows 8.1 no windows 8 sign. I already looked at tons of
websites to find out if your machine is genuine or not and I got no help, most of them were about putting the laptop in a different angle to see if the sign changes color, but I dont have a sign. And right now im using a HP desktop running windows 10.
It does not have a workstation… The PC is built into the monitor and I dont see a sign or even a product key on any of my machines. Help! My friends TOSHIBA (older model) Has the Windows 8 sign and it changes color when you change the angle your looking
at it. This windows 10 pc is only 1 day old! Read More

After 4 failed Windows 10 Home updates on my Windows 8.1, all the 8.1 updates fail. Never installed Windows 10. Why are they failing?
My Windows 8.1 is set to automatic installs of updates. When I checked, there are over 50 failed updates for Windows 8.1. At the bottom of the list are 4 failed Windows 10 Home updates. Since I never updated to Windows 10, why would there be any Windows
10 Home updates on my computer, failed or otherwise? All Windows 8.1 updates above these Windows 10 updates have failed. I ran the Fill In Troubleshooter. It could not find a problem. I also ran the Clean Boot and still could not install updates. After running
the "Check for Updates" for 12 hours, I finally received an error message that there is a problem downloading updates – Try later. Read More
After doing a clean install of Windows 8.1 I am now having an issue with Windows Keep Post hanging when selecting check for updates and it does not provide any error codes. Troubleshooting Windows Keep Post comes up
with “Potential Windows Keep Post Database error detected 0x80070490” and “Windows Keep Post components must be repaired” which it says gets fixed but the keep post check issue still remains. I have tried numerous other fixes from Microsoft’s suggestions and analogous
posts but nothing has solved the issue (internet connection is fine, tried restoring image health, refreshing, reinstalling again, clean booting). As of at the moment the only updates installed are from 2014 and one from at the moment labelled “KB3020370”.

I started up my computer to find a Blue Screen of Death, after running automatic repair a few times and checking the logs I found out it was due to a few corrupted .sys drivers. I replaced these with correct ones and I ended up with another error in the
logs about a corrupted registry, before I replaces the drivers manually I tried SFC.exe but had no luck, after a few SFC scans my hard disk cosmos went down rapidly, it was as if SFC.exe was captivating up about 3GB of data each scan, however the logs are nowhere
near that magnitude and I think are about 500KB. Now activate repair often hangs because there is not enough cosmos on the hard drive. I know it must be something to do with SFC because each generation I ran it my free cosmos unexpectedly dropped. I can’t continue to fix it
if I do not have cosmos on my hard drive, please help! Read More
